Liverpool would certainly need to pay an enormous amount of money to see David Villa move to the UK.
on Benítez sets sights on David Villa (6)
Thus far the transfer market hasn't produced any earth-shattering news, but if David Villa moves to Liverpool it will undoubtedly be one of the biggest transfers of the year. |

If anybody should ask me if the 2010 WC will be staged in SA, my reply would be: I'll believe it when I see it !!!! |

The soccer market has gone crazy !!! There is no other way to say this, when Chelsea make Milan and offer for Kaka for close to EUR 100 million.
on Arshavin supports Zenit in decision to reject Barça bid (2)
However, I think the presidents of some major clubs (Milan, Inter, Real Madrid, Barcelona, etc.) have decided to put their foot down and they simply will not spend crazy amounts of money. Many people forget that soccer is a business, i.e. just like any other business. |

on Scolari wants to win all competitions with Chelsea (11)
At the end of the day, this guy is doing a job, a very well paid job, just like all the other coaches in this world. I have my doubts about Scolari, because Brazil has never produced great coaches. I know that he won the World Cup in 2002, but, with the players that he had in the Brazil squad, I would also have won the World Cup, and I'm not a coach. |

The way that things are going, I don't think that we'll see any major moves, anytime between now and when the market closes, at the end of August.
on Chelsea reject Inter bid for Lampard (9)
I think that most of the rumours are nothing but a lot of nonsense created by the media. |

Are you Italian ? I would suggest that you update your profile, by including some data about you, where you live, etc., so we all know more about you. Soccerway is like some kind of friendly (sometimes) soccer venue and I think it's nice that we all know each other better !! |

Thirty is a good age for a soccer player. He's still young enough and he's got the experience. After Spain won Euro 2008 with a young team, everybody has been climbing on the band-wagon, praising the virtues of under-25 soccer players. I think a lot of these people will end up eating their own words. Let's not forget that Arsenal choked, with a team of young players, this past season, because, at the end of the day, there is no substitute for experience. |
