we actually didn't deserve to advance due to our bad performance. i hope we get rid of the corrupt football association members who is destroying football in Iraq.

i think Capello did a good job but he didn't reach his targets yet. the team played a very good passing and place changing game in midfield (implementing Capello's specific tactics well), and the managers touches is clear.

The players are not slaves indeed. But the clubs have the right (i think) to have their players ready for competitive matches (they are paying them a lot of money to do so).
The Olympics timing is bad, they delay the games so they are not interfering with Euros (so people won't neglect them in favor of the Euros) and this delay make the games interfere with important qualification matches.
The Olympics organizers should fix their calender to get out of this repetitive problem.

Anyway, if the club teams want to prevent their players from joining their national teams just to make them available in the pre-season training and friendlies then they are so wrong, as the Olympics at least make the player represent his nation that it is a great thing for any player.
