US Città di Palermo have dismissed Francesco Guidolin and reappointed Stefano Colantuono as their new coach following a 3-2 home defeat against Genoa CFC.

Saturday's loss proved to be the end of the line for the 52-year-old Guidolin, who was reappointed as Palermo coach last November. He said after the game it was "like playing in hell", alluding to the hostile reception from Palermo's own supporters. Palermo have now dismissed the coach, with 45-year-old Colantuono returning, having been fired after a 5-0 defeat by Juventus on 26 November. Palermo lie 12th in Serie A having lost their last three league games.
