FRANKFURT, Apr 3 (SW) - Although ASD CF Bardolino lost their first match in the UEFA Cup semi finals to FFC Frankfurt, the Italians are still aiming to shock their German opponents in the second leg.

Bardolino lost the first game 4-2 in Germany and will now have to focus on settings things straight in Verona this week-end.
"We did not have the best start and conceded two easy goals," said manager Renato Longega about the first leg.

"We responded extremely well though, and created several chances to equalize after scoring our first goal [2-1]. Frankfurt are a great side and a great club but we have to believe that we can do it at the Bentegodi Stadium."

Longega also puts things into perspective for his side: "We have nothing to lose. It would have been a great adventure regardless of the result in the return leg. We have already achieved a great result just being here.

That it was a great achievement to get this far is certain. The Italians finished second in a group with Arsenal, Neulengbach and Alma in the second qualification round, to beat Danish side Brondby on penalties in the quarter finals.

Frankfurt meanwhile have other things to worry about. Star midfielder Pia Wunderlich suffered torn cruciate ligaments in her left knee and is sidelined for the coming six months.

"We are saddened and shocked that Pia Wunderlicht has suffered another setback in her football career and wish her all the best for her recovery, said General Manager Siegried Dietrich.
