Olympique de Marseille president Pape Diouf has confirmed that Erik Gerets will continue as coach of the Vélodrome club for the foreseeable future.

"Of course he will be staying with us," said Diouf. "He will have more time and space to build his team." The 53-year-old Belgian has taken Marseille from 16th to fourth place in France's Ligue 1 since his appointment on a two-year deal last September.
