UEFA Cup: Monaco too strong for Hamburg, Viking draw with Slavia

MONACO/STAVANGER, Nov 24 (SW) - Hamburger SV crashed to a 2-0 defeat at AS Monaco, while Viking FK and Slavia Prague held each other to a draw.

AS Monaco - Hamburger SV 2-0

Hamburg won the first two matches in this group, but were unable to compete with AS Monaco. The French scored through Emmanuel Adebayor in the 44th minute, and got a second through Olivier Veigneau in the 90th. Hamburg player Bouhlarouz was red-carded in stoppage time.

Viking FK - Slavia Prague 2-2

The Norwegian hosts took the lead twice, with goals from Nkosinathi Nhleko in the 26th minute and Alan Gaarde in the 55th, but Slavia levelled on both occasions, through Stanislav Vlcek (51st) and Karel Pitak (83rd).
